BeatMania IIDX

Well, it’s nothing awesome nor brilliant but my boyfriend showed me the maybe most powerful tool to work with videos. It’s AVI synth. Enables you to write scripts which can do almost anything you’d like.

So we tried our best with it but the source files were already badly taken so well the result is somewhere between not bad and good.

Yeah, you heard it right, DistorteD is out and I guess many people got their copy. Mostly those who got the Limited Edition have to be happy^_^.

But I was slightly disappointed with the game (just my opinion at that time, I think it will change). The menu is not the same as the Arcade version and I missed the “shibaraku omachikudasai” (not that I would like to wait for the PS2 to load the songs). Also having the DistorteD theme on Happy sky I saw the differences between DistorteD’s and Happy Sky’s theme which made me look at the differences rather than paying attention to the notes.

Anyway I went through the songlist and was delighted to see there Bloody Tears, Zenius-I-Vanisher, iFuturelist and other songs I like from the arcade version. Also some good songs came back (Quasar also, yep!) so I think I will like the game the next time I play it.

Last Wednesday the location test of BeatMania IIDX 15 Operation DJ Troopers has started. It will end next week and I wonder what all the Japanese players will be saying about this game.
After releasing Happy Sky CS we had Test Location of Gold in America. Everyone wondered what IIDX number 15 would look like or what the name would be.

I have to say that for me the name of the game made me say “This ain’t IIDX”. But after some time I had to admit that this will be the official name of the game. It really sounds like a name for a war game (or FPS game). I know the two letters D and J still stand in the name…but look at the poster. All the previous games had nice/cute people there. If I ever get a double A I will get a picture of an armed person in camouflage uniform? Or just a cute little girl with big guns?

The theme is dark and greenish. It is true that it is more “alive”. It has special effects added to the theme. The color of the effects is mostly light green and it flashes on the screen pretty brightly. Oh you know that the sudden “wall” is now camouflaged? Still it seem not to fit the game. I have to say it is original…but it brings on more questions. What the songlist will look like?

Today I read on someone’s blog that he/she can’t play DistorteD because his/her TV broke down so I wondered if I can manage to run DistorteD on my own TV.

After several problems with mapping my controller we ran DistorteD but unfortunately it was off.

We tried several times with adjusting the resolution but it was always off. So I tried to play and synchronize with the game and I managed it. You have to confirm the notes like 1,5 cm above the target line.

I managed to clear Absolute on hyper and you know why? Because DistorteD was kinda slow…

I played IIDX today again. Not double this time.

I played some songs on Hyper and after a while I AAed North [h]. So I decided to try my luck on the light7 version.

I know that this is far from being a triple A but you know what I almost managed to do? I almost got all just greats and greats. One good found it’s way there somewhere. I tried it again and well…I got the same good there again (but a better score 208/95/1/0/0).

After this song I tried to play on another and I managed to clear some six LVL songs and I Aed Love Again on my first try.

Today I finished clearing all 3 level songs on double and I managed to clear 5 four level songs.
After failing some other fours I switched back to single and I played some songs I haven’t cleared yet.
I managed to clear FINALLY 5.1.1 on hyper. I just couldn’t believe my eyes. The end where you have to press the last two keys at the same rhythm was always my end - I never managed to pass this part without failing it. But this time, I got it.
After this I tried Electro Tuned on another and I cleared it too^_^. But it’s true that there is the pretty chaotic accord part where I have like 0% of life all the time. But the rest of the song is quite fine.

I just played for fun after a long time of not playing and I surprised myself because I got several AAs on 3-5LVL songs on normal. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I thought that this would be impossible for me to achieve. But there it is. So maybe I will get eventually better at BeatMania IIDX.

I also cleared several 7LVL songs (most of them) on normal and I managed to clear Airflow [a].

Finally I had the chance to try to play BM IIDX Double. I have to say that it’s not that simple^_~. I managed somehow the first two easy songs. I found out that my hands really had to work separately. Later on I tried 3LVL songs and I managed some of them^_^ (with grade D but anyway a clear). I even tried 4th level songs. But I encountered accords there and the “voltage (more notes)” was higher. Anyway I was glad I could try it and I was quite surprised that I can actually read that^_^.

Today my boyfriend took a video of me playing BeatMania IIDX. I played Injection of Love on hyper.

This day I felt so bad I couldn’t do anything else than just cry. I was so deeply in a depression that I didn’t know how to get out of it.

I wanted to play BeatMania so badly but I couldn’t (not the reason of the depression). A pen and a paper saved me (kind of) from this desperate state of mind.

I started to draw some sketch of a female and then I started to give it more life and shape. Slowly I drew a human Xia from Happy Sky. After that I thought that a background would be nice, so I tried my best on a BeatMania IIDX arcade but I failed badly.

Today I got quite a bog box coming from Japan. Inside the first thing I came across was the bill. I payed 11500 Yen for this box. In the box there was the game of BeatManie IIDX - Happy Sky CS. Next there was a BeatNation CD, a DVD with some music videos. Another interesting thing was the figure of Xia (the nice blondie girl from Happy Sky) and the last two things were two posters - Happy sky poster and Merry Christmas poster from KONAMI.

After enjoying everything on the ground I took HS and put it into my PS2. And then I could happily enjoy the game. (I didn’t get my controller thought …)

My boyfriend bought a BeatMania IIDX KONAMI original controller and I was so bad behaving girl that I took it from him and I tried my first IIDX songs. I already played the game once before and I knew that the beginning would be really hard.
I cleared the first 1 and 2nd level songs. I cleared them but the result was usually grade E. I also managed to clear some 3LVL songs (like Can’t Stop Falling love). After those “nice” clears I started to play fours but that never end up with a clear. Always fail.
Several hours later I started to get Ds, later on some Cs, Bs and even As and one AA.
Several days later I managed to full combo some songs and I was really happy about that. A full combo on a song with 511 notes was quite an achievement for me.

This is my first time actually seeing for my own eyes what BeatMania looks like. It’s the first time I had the chance to play this game and I have to say that I sucked. My scores were clears but with the grade E. It was difficult for me to realize which button is which but finally I managed to clear some 3LVL songs. I also have to mention that I played without speed mods. With High speed I could have cleared much more.

Anyway, I’m known as S’Tsung and I like all kind of music games. For the time being I play occasionally because of work but I wish to play more. ^_^. I’m live in the Czech Republic and that’s everything I guess for the time being.
