Watch this video, the end with Twilight on Expert is magnificent. This would be impossible in my country….
Some random In The Groove thoughts, videos, results or other stuff related to In The Groove game.
Sincerely, after failing this song twice and one clear there was so much sweat that I could bathe in it (ok, I’m kidding but the sweat was pouring from me….-_- and my feet hurt as hell)

Well, after partly recovering from an illness I wanted to start to play ITG once more. But single didn’t make me happy that much. My results were worse than ever. So I decided to play double (two people in the Czech Republic are trying their luck with it - so I joined them).
I took my CF pad and put it a little bit near the bed and I put an impact dance pad just next to my CF. Quite wierd combination I told myself but why not try it?The first problem I encountered was ofcourse the soft/hard pad problem. The second one was that the CF is actually higher positioned than the impact pad (this bothers me quite a lot - my right leg has to do much more work then the other one). Also there is a danger of tripping over both of the pads (I managed both already). But all this did not discourage me enough to play.
So have a look at Lemming on the run [hard] on double on my setup^_^
Youtube => Lemming on the run [hard]
Anyway after a while I found out that I can play on hard but expert is quite difficult with the impact pad sliding quite far away from my hardpad. Also the difference in height is much more felt while playing expert. …*sniff*
But anyway I will at least keep to play some hard songs. Hehe.

Today I managed to get over ten thousand peak combo for the third time in my life. This time, I didn’t get it on my PS2^_~. So the combo is up on Groovestats.

Lately we’ve been discussing why people in the Czech Republic can’t get high scores on easy songs or even heavy songs. People said mostly that it’s because foreign people have so much time that they can play all day and all night. Also they said it’s a question of arcades and Cobalt Fluxes. And the last think stated was concurrence.
What I think about that? I think that it’s not a question of free time nor Cobalt Fluxes. I don’t know too many people having them so…A question of free time? Well, I know many people going to arcades once per week and they can AA ninefooters and AAA the rest (not counting in ten footers+). The answer could be somewhere in the arcades issue…
Anyway I went to our local arcades. It’s a real crap-o-cab with ITG1. I got some 97% scores so it’s doable but I have to say that it’s off and the screen is bad (low results for me). People don’t get high scores on this machine. I still hold the highest score on the machine. There were new scores on the machine since I went there last time, so it seems that from time to time people go there and play.
Cobalt Flux issue…well people have here home made pads from one person. Those pads are not bad, neither are the best. I would never pay for it, neither I would play on it. I would prefer playing on Impact Dance pad. Anyway you can get high scores on this pad no problem as I AAAed quite a lot of DDR songs on StepMania on it and I got most of my triple stars in ITG on it too. The pad is still in development so we still have to see how it will be.
But anyway you can get high scores on any kind of pad. (even a Deluxe Ignition Pad, at least I can do that).
The last thing they stated was that there is a concurrence abroad. It seems that I am no concurrence to them and also it seems that everybody here thinks that there are no players at all. I know about one player who plays all the time and wants to get better. He got better and is actually good when playing easy songs. But he will eventually clear more difficult songs and get better on them. But there are other players who can clear ten footers even though they don’t do this often and their PA is bad.
What do you think? What the reason could be?
Anyway I got that AAA on Mahou no Tobira today - First try.
At the same convention as the ParaPara performance was done, there was a Czech National Tournament in Dance Dance Revolution and In The Groove.
It was played on a Cobalt Flux, PS2 and a TV.
People weren’t happy about playing a DDR tournament but some people signed in and we could play. We were supposed to play 2 songs from DDR SN and 2 songs from DDR EXT2. It was the dance points which counted not percents or the actual score.
Most of us played DoLL and Shivers from SN and Sweet Sweet Magic and As the rush comes from DDR EXT2.
The ITG tournament was played on the same configuration. Only the game changed to ITG PS2.
One player from Slovakia didn’t manage to tip toe o a CF and other people complained about getting pad misses (way offs) on the pad. Especially a pad builder who wants to start selling his pads abroad.
Well, anyway I won the ITG tournament with 97% overall, the rest of the people with big difference behind. The same was for the DDR tournament but as the evaluation was based on dance points the difference wasn’t that big (400 pts from me and the person who got second place).
Today at noon a small Czech In The Groove tournament took place in Chotebor.
Four songs were played and the scores were summed up. The one with most percent won the tournament.
The first song was Drifting Away Hard. I don’t like this song but my FA on this song is quite good.
The second song was a shock for everybody. We played Go 60 Go and it seemed that I was the only one who actually played that song before (on hard difficulty). People couldn’t believe that there can be really green arrows in a stepchart.
The third chosen song was Kagami Expert which wasn’t a good choice for some but for one person it was the only ten footer he could master.
The last song was there to make the biggest gap between the second and first place. Random chose us Utopia. I end up as the only person who could pass this song no bar and without problems so even if I wouldn’t be winning all the time it could made me win.
It’s been always like this. When someone wants to get a star he gets 95.86, when he wants to get a double star he gets like 97.98 and when I want to get a triple star I got this 98.97. I have to add that my last arrow was an excellent because I thought that it would end with a freeze but I was mistaken…*sniff*
I wouldn’t mind if this would be for the first time, but I got this already several times…I tried playing Charlene three times today. I got one excellent more the second time and on my final stage I got 3 excellents more so I didn’t get those nice three stars.

After a long time of not really playing (that means that I haven’t played for more than 30 minutes at home, and I didn’t even play on hard or expert) I had the chance to play again…
And this time I decided to give it my best - trying to play all the songs I haven’t played in ages.
And some nice results came from it. I got a triple star on Mellow hard and lands of the rising sun hard. I think I can do triple stars on some other songs as well but I haven’t played them that day. Next I got double star on Why Me Expert and one star on D-Code Expert. Quite nice, huh?

Yesterday I played quite a lot of In The Groove and I got many triple stars. I also played Dawn yesterday. I got two excellents on it so I tried my luck today and you know what I got?
A quadstar!
A friend of mine was working on ITG3 theme and asked me if I could try to draw Gwen for his theme. I already draw the animated Gwen on select game mode screen. But drawing something high-res that would really look good that is out of question for me. But anyway the picture is here and you can judge it by yourself.

This day I spent in my family’s house where they forbid me to play downstairs (so I wouldn’t damage the floor). I took my Cobalt Flux and connect it to my PS2 upstairs. There I have a really old TV which can’t handle NTSC or NTSC-J input. But anyway it didn’t stop me from playing In The Groove and BeatMania IIDX.
After I obtained many double stars on easy songs I tried Why Me Hard (just a six footer)..and you know what? I got my first triple star in my life. It was so nice^_^.
I also played Happy Sky that day and I started getting As. Also an improvement. ^_^
We were invited to Rubbinnex’s house so we came there for a weekend.
We played In The Groove on his own hardpads which I really like even though we had several problems with them.
At Rubbinnex there was me, my boyfriend, NX-306, Deirh, Suikun and Vikibunny. The first one who came there to play ITG was me so I played and I got some nice scores even though there was something wrong with the gameplay but I couldn’t figure out what. Then Suikun and VikiBunny came and tried to play a song. Both of them started to yell that it is offsync. After this song Suikun chose Disconnected Hyper on hard and got a nice 80% greats. Rubbinnex couldn’t believe it himself so he tried it too and got pretty much the same score.
After some time we found the right offset. It was around 80 miliseconds. After this I realized that the offset is right and I started to get even higher scores than before.
We played both In The Groove and Dance Dance Revolution (and other songs for StepMania). VikiBunnt played mostly songs from BeatMania found in DDR SuperNova and I got 94% in average on them. I also managed to get some Full Excellent Combo and Suikun made a compliment^_^.
Some time later Suikun wanted to try one Monolith edit called Monolith Micro (tenfooter). He wanted everyone to try it and played it no bar and without the tip toe - heel technique. I have to say that the stepchart is technically quite difficult but I still got an A. Poor Suikun almost killed him on the song and he failed the song. Next was Rubbinnex’s round who got 74% on that song. I guess he didn’t believe his eyes as he usually gets triple stars on anything.
Later it was Rubbinnex’s time to play what he wants so I played with him being the only person who can actually clear twelve footers there. We started with AA or AAA eleven footer. This song was quite easy and I managed it no bar. VikiBunny watched me with her big eyes not understanding how I could clear a song like this. Suikun stayed silent.
Another eleven footers and twelve footers followed but the difficulty really varied. Sometimes it was difficult as hell and sometimes I cleared it without much problems (like Healing Vision “something” mix - 11)
After a while Suikun wanted to try some difficult songs too so we played Vertex Expert together. Suikun played with bar (a heating unit actually) but died before the last speed up. I cleared the song somehow no bar and VikiBunny once again looked at awe.
Rubbinnex finished the day by showing us how to clear Insomnia (really nice course^_^) on a pad and that was our time to look at him without any understanding what’s going on.
The Championship was held in Oslo, Norway. The tournaments were separate.
Ladies single
In The Groove was a new thing for me. Long time ago I got an ITG copy for PS2 from my boyfriend but I never shared his enthusiasm and interest in this game. I never tried it too so it is just me to blame. When I found out that there is a European and World Championships in this game I had to try the game for sure and see how my results would look like.
I killed myself that day on Queen of Light which was the first song I picked and I played it on Expert. After this I found out that ITG is not bad at all and I game myself a goal. To play at least all the songs once.
I have to say that I arrived at the tournament without completing this task. But there were songs I knew but they were two few for a tournament.
I chose Charlene as the seeding song and I got a star on it so it didn’t start that bad for me. I won the first match getting a double star for the first time in my life.
For the second match I had to choose a nine footer so I chose the first one I saw - Boogie Down. The girl playing with me gave up quite early so I just finished the song with quite a nice score for me (93.29%). (at that time I couldn’t even imagine results above 90%).
After this I was supposed to choose a tenfooter and as I didn’t know what to chose I chos the first good sounding music for my ears and that was Cryosleep (I hope no one mind that I couldn’t choose a song..-_- embarassed). I somehow almost full comboed the song (except one miss when the song slowed down for the first time, which was a real shock for me).
Next I had to play against Lauma, the winner of all the tournaments there. She picked Hand of Time (for me some unknown, changing BPM ten footer). I beat her on the song by 3 percents and then I chose Anubis. I don’t know why I did it because I knew there were hands. I wasn’t that familiar with them at the time (except Queen of Light).
I successfully managed to fail all the hands (as Ulala would say) but still I got a better score than Lauma and thus kicking her out of the tournament.
When I was supposed to fight for the third round I got a bad feeling about it. I knew I would lose. I played against Maral, another nice girl. Maral beat me on Robotix by 0.2 percent and then I got her on Go 60 Go Expert. She gave up the song and then she took a pretty LONG pause for the third round. I have to say that I greatly disagreed with Ole giving her so much time. Not to mention that she had friends there and people who took care about her. I was there like alone with almost no support except Rubbinnex (whom I beat in the seeding round so I felt quite guity).
The last song played for me was supposed to be Hardcore of the north but someone said no and the second chosen song by random was Cryosleep. A song I played once and Maral’s favorite song. What were my chances? I lost like with 0.02 percent and was done for…
But I was happy for the fourth place and I looked forward to the World Championship.
