IIDX

Been another long time since I posted something up but nothing is happening again. My Pop’n Controller is fixed. (Yay!) But the right white button keeps failing to register. (Boo!) However, I’ll just get another microswitch in there some time. My IIDX skills are about the same but slightly worse at harder songs. :[ Damn. No more 11’s for a while. Up to 38’s in Pop’n Music, though.

Pop’n Music FEVER! is out. Wow, I remember hyping over the headphones like it was yesterday.. Time really does pass by fast.

Well last night was pretty boring and in fact, I had a chance to be able to check out Pop’n FEVER! but I didn’t go to the lock-in and Thai went. >_FINALLY passed No.13. Took forever, but whatever. I did it. So yeah, hopefully I can clear Dawn [a] today. ‘Till next time.

I’ve been playing IIDX lately and I’m getting better sort of. I got a VJArmy account now, so yeah, that’s pretty cool, I guess. I’m working on clearing all 10th style 7k so that I can post it up on the site but my rival is beating my ass at a few songs, so I definately need to work on that. I feel kind of bad today because I slept most of the day and I feel like I wasted it all. Shit. Oh well, I guess tonight will probably be loyal to me and I’ll feel pretty damn good while I’m playing IIDX or stepping a IIDX song that I need to do for this project that I’m working on.

In Pop’n news, I gave this guy named Chow my Pop’n ASC to give to the manager of the arcade to work on and hopefully he can do something with it. If not, then damn. If he can, fuck yes! It’ll be really great. :] I’ll finally be able to get back into the Pop’n Music scene.

So that’s about it for Bemaniwise. Lifewise, some shit is starting to happen. There’s a new pizza place that opened up called Incredible American Pizza company or something like that and there’s this huge arcade with a brand new SuperNOVA machine that Ian and I are beating the shit out of to get our names on it even though they’ll probably be gone by the time we go back which should be sometime this week. They also have Precussion Freaks which I’ve grown to like and have already cleared a few songs in “Hard” mode. There’s not a really.. huge songlist that it has to offer. Heres hoping they bring out a IIDX machine or something. Anything. Just give me more Bemani. Another thing that’s happening is Jodi’s birthday party is coming up which she will probably get shitfaced for, but I’m just going because last time I supposibly ruined her party by not attending because my friends wanted me to go and I just didn’t want to go mostly because Kevin was there. If you know me, you know how much I can’t stand that little douche bag.

I, again, have not updated in quite awhile. I really need to start updating a lot more, but nothing is happening lately. It’s hard to keep up a blog when you have nothing to post. :( Oh well, I’ll try to sum up what’s been going on.

I got a new 500 gb external drive to put my shit in which is fucking awesome. I’m gonna have to download Tsutter’s awesome CDs all over again and have them blast in Winamp while I download even more albums and wait for those to finish. The transfer rate isn’t that bad and it runs pretty smoothly. The black on blue looks pretty nice, too. The outer ring is the capacity meter, which tells you how much space you have on your hard drive. It stays lit up until you fill in 25% of the hard drive, then it fades out a quarter of the circle. I’m just guessing that’s what it does, but it’s still pretty nifty. :3 I can’t wait to fill ‘er up with a bunch of emulation, videos, music, and hopefully some doujin of SS is in working order any time soon. The only problem I’m seem to be having right now is with my iPod. It’s dead, you see, and I have no charger. I am chargeless. As an alternative, I plugged it into the USB port of my laptop, hoping that would be suitable enough, but it only goes to the Apple logo, lights up, and stays there. No “Do not Disconnect” message or anything. It’s just stuck there. So I’m going to try to get that sorted out sometime soon, hopefully. I really need to rip all the shit out of it and put it onto my external for renaming and storage for when I get a new iPod to put my songs in.

Interestingly enough, I’m beginning to get into photoshop a lot more and it’s starting to grow on me. It’s a really fun program once you learn the things and what you have to do with it. It’s a shame I’m too lazy for tutorials. The reason I’m going on about this is because I’m in the process of helping a pack be made for Stepmania. :) Anime songs and video game songs galore, but we still haven’t come up with a name yet. We don’t have that many entries, anyway. It’s only me and two other guys working on it. Thai and myself are the leaders of the pack, putting in the most files since we are aware of what’s going on with it. Logan is helping provide maybe one or two files, but that’s better than nothing. We don’t know when we’re going to stop this project, but we’re hoping that it goes on for a long time because I have high expectations for it. This should be an awesome pack if we all keep our heads in and work together with it.

IIDX. I haven’t played IIDX in quite awhile unless you count simulation which you probably don’t. If you do, I’ve played a few DistorteD songs and I’m fairly impressed. I can’t wait until I can get my hands on a copy. However, I need to get back into the IIDX trend and start playing again. I need to pass a few more 11s and 10s and get a few 9s out of the way. I’ve passed another hard 10 that was very hard for me in the past. Gekkou [a]. I was very happy with that clear and I’m hoping I can come out with some more clears like that. :D It would be a big boost on my will to want to play, which has been taking a toll as of late. I really need to get more accurate rivals to play against, because the preloaded ones just don’t cut it. I either beat the shit out of them or they surpass me in a big number of EX points.

I’ve stopped playing games on my SNES emulator. I feel pretty shitty for letting Soul Blazer get me all this time. I’m stuck. I still am. I’m afraid to touch it because I know I’ll die. I might do something with it this weekend. I need to get back to playing Earthbound, too, actually. Oh well. ‘Till next time..

Well.. not too much is going on. A few days ago my dad had high blood pressure so we went to the doctor to check it out, but it turned out to be fine. The doctor told him to get on back on his medication any way, so he did, and he also told him to quit smoking, which I thought was a good idea about 8 years ago, but hey, I’m just a child. Also, I’m starting to talk to a lot more people and making new friends over the summer which is pretty cool and unexpected. It’s a nice change. :)

Tomorrow is a big day for me. I’m going over to Ron’s (Trip Machina) house to play some IIDX. Thai and another guy are coming with us so it should be fun. And since I’m making good progress on IIDX, I’m hoping that I’ll be up to par or a little over Ron, but I think he’ll beat me in the score part. He’s got a few AAAs under his belt. (By a few I mean over 100. Yikes!) Thai is a pretty good player, too. His timing is better than mine. Most players timing is better than mine, but I’m working on it! Another thing I need to work on desperately is scratches with keys in them. Aaauuuuggghhhhh! They obliterate me at times, but sometimes I completely own them (5.1.1. [a] until the end). I’ll own it some day. :)

As far as my progress on Soul Blazer goes.. well.. I have two bosses left and I beat it. But I’m stuck for the time being. I’ll just leave it be and maybe move to something else like Mario. Well, that’s all for now. ‘Till next time.

Here’s whats been going on for the most part.

–IIDX
I passed my first 11. Kecak [a]. Felt fucking awesome, but I think its the easiest 11 out there, even though it has that stupid ass retarded ending. It was more like a 10 until the end, so yeah. I figure that most hard IIDX songs are ending stupid except for Genocide. I’ve learned that you can sit through 2/3s of Genocide [h], hit all the notes at the end and pretty much pass it. So I passed Genocide [h] actually TRYING and I passed it with a D. Yeah. It’s hard. For me at least. My fingering techinque is stupid. I use my left hand ring finger on 1, middle on 2, index on 3, right thumb on 4, index 5, middle 6, ring 7. It can be VERY uncomfortable, so I try to mix up my fingers when I play to stop me from being TOO uncomfortable. Or I just turn on random which helps in a way to relieve the pain in the cramps i get from doing something like SigSig [a] or Go Berzerk’s 7K middle to end. It’s pretty stupid.
Also, in 10th style, I can’t play anything lower than 140+ bpm because I just can’t read that slow without sudden+. I can’t use a towel because I can’t adjust it properly on my TV, and if I do something with a speed up, I don’t have the chance to reach out and throw it off since I sit pretty far from my TV and my TV is way higher than me when I’m sitting and playing. So for older styles, I’ll run into some problems, but I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing to get used to it. High-Speed 4 just isn’t enough.

–Pop’n Music
So I still haven’t gotten a chance to play Pop’n Music (or take those pictures of my busted up controller), but apparently there’s a guy that goes to the mall and has a Pop’n Mini, so I might check it out and hope he would sell it. I doubt it though. It’s the Limited Edition yellow one from 10. :) I hope I can get my hands on it. At least just play on it a little while. He’s also getting a DJDAO ASC, which I’d also love to invest in. Apparently they’re REALLY REALLY good, so here’s hoping to it not crapping out on me. I’m also thinking of having a guy who makes arcade joysticks to just make me a mini controller.
I haven’t been really keeping up with 15: Adventure like I should, but Fever! CS still looks promising. I can’t wait for it to come out. I’ll definately get it controller or not. I think it’d be pretty cool if they released another mini sometime soon. I’d be all over that.

Summer is fucking BORING. I have nothing better to do than sleep in late and my dad gets all bitchy at me because I sleep late. What do you want me to do? Shit, even if I woke up early that’s just stretching out the hours of boredom I’ll have to endure, so I’d rather just sleep off the day and stay up at night where the house is actually active (since both of my parents will be home, dinner, etc.) It’s almost 5, so my mom should be home in 30 minutes. That’s good. I’ll drink coffee with her and discuss shit that I wouldn’t with anyone else since I have that kind of cool relationship with my mom. :) It’s a great thing to have.
I’ve been adding shit to my iPod but it’s still broken. The hold button is stuck. If I could ever get it to power on, it shows the little lock on the screen no matter if i switch the Hold switch on or off, so I’m just thinking of getting a Zune. 30 gb, plays videos, music, all that good stuff. But at the same time I want an iPod video due to it having 80 gigs of space! Can’t go wrong with 80 gb.
Speaking of large memory spaces, my external drive died on me a month ago. Fucking sucks. 500 gb capacity, it falls on a carpeted floor off a desk that wasn’t very high up, and it all of a sudden can’t transfer my shit. Fucking. Weak. I had all of my music on there (5,000 songs!!!!!), some TV shows, 1000 pictures that I’ve collected on the internet over the course of the year I had this computer, and it’s ALL GONE. I hate to dwell on it because it makes me feel like shit for being such a dumbass to even bring it in the game room. I was trying to get DistorteD’s HDD to work correctly since it would lag on my computer really badly, so I tried it on another one in the game room and, well, it fell, and now it won’t transfer large files. Even so, I would have had to format it and lose everything, but at least I would have the space to get everything back. Another weird thing that happens: when I plug it in and try to transfer something, my whole computer freezes.. until I turn the external drive off. Then everything goes at lightning speed and I get this fucking error saying “Windows cannot write blah blah blah blah blah.” It’s really stupid and I just.. want to throw it into a wall. But, that’s not cool, so I won’t. Fuck.
Anyway, I started on a new game. Illusion of Gaia. It reminds me a lot of Zelda, but I can’t figure out where to place the two Inca statues. -_- Pain in the ass. Oh well, I’ll figure it out later. I’m tired of typing for now. I might update tonight. ‘Till next time.

..have been quite awesome. Yes, indeed. I modded my IIDX controller last night. and it looks pretty good and feels pretty nice too. Now all I need is a Swap Magic (which I can snag for 20 dollars!) and then I will be on my way to playing my imports and probably sell my Jap PS2 which is like brand new not even a year old.

So anyway, I went to see my aunts house today and uh.. yeah.. WOW. Here’s some pictures:

At about 11:15 last night I cleared my last Hyper 10 on Happy Sky. So, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but the beginning-almost middle wasn’t very simple, either. In fact, it was stupidly hard to me, but maybe I’m just not at that skill level to be doing scales and chords at the same time. Anyway, my next goal will be to hard clear all of the hypers on HS, and afterwards, I’m going to work on passing Dawn ~The Next Endevour~ [a], Go Berzerk [7K], Scorpion Fire [7K], reclearing Genocide [7K] which isn’t too hard since the end gives you all the notes you need to clear it, and Key [a]. If I recall correctly, these are all 11’s with the exception of Genocide being a 10 due to it’s easy ending. I would be trying to pass more songs if RED wouldn’t mess up on me so often. I can’t play Sphere, The Safari, Max 300, Speedy Cat, Car of Your Dreams, Rainbow Flyer, and I’m quite sure there are others, so I’m stuck on 7th or 8th dan if I recall correctly because the game won’t play some songs. Happy Sky won’t play Please Don’t Go and Tomorrow Perfume, so those are out of the question as well. However, I was thinking of modding my American PS2 (since I have a Japanese one used to play my IIDX games obviously), and burning the IIDX mixes all over again and also burning my Pop’n Music mixes over even though they work just fine. But it’ll save me money. :D I looooove saving money! I’m also wanting to get into GuitarFreaks, so I’ll burn those, too! Hell, I’ll burn all the Bemani games if I can find them! Too bad I’ll probably need an invite to Bemaniso. Ah, oh well. I need to get a GF controller, too, and I’d like to play Drummania once in my life. I also would like to get a damn pop’n music mini controller like the one that came with 10. The second edition. But no one wants to sell and when they do sell, I’m a day too late and I don’t have any money. :( Damnit. Ah, oh well.

So tomorrow is the lock-in and I still need to ask Logan if Thai is bringing his IIDX shit so I know whether or not I need to bring my controller since he wants to play doubles. I might give doubles a shot, too since I’ve never tried it before. It looks pretty fun, though. And if he doesn’t bring his stuff, that’s alright, since I’ll just work on my DDR doubles that I’ve recently gotten into. I’m not even close to being as good as I am on singles, of course, but I could get there with some work. I get confused with the left pad right arrow and the right pad left arrow being they are so close. Plus I need to try stacker again and win that damned XBOX 360 that taunts me so.

Anyway, out of video game news, I’m going to be taking a novel class for, well, writing a novel. I’m really big into writing and I love to write stories, but I’m no pro. So I’m hopething this class will give me the boost I need to help out my skills and maybe fix my writers block that I get far too often.

Well since my other blog on Blogger went down I guess I’ll use this place to start posting all the wonderful things going on in my life. Let me start by saying that I have one more hyper 10 left to pass on Happy Sky CS! I’m pretty happy about that and tomorrow I’ll be attempting to pass it. It’s Double Thrash by 414 and apparently it’s not too tough, but it’ll probably take me a while to get it any way.

In future news, I should be attending a lock-in at Aladdin’s Castle in the Acadiana Mall Saturday to hopefully play 3 whole hours of IIDX greatness and maybe play some Stacker even though that game sure does like to mock me when I get to the very top and miss the last block. :( Oh well. I’m also trying to think of a place to go for summer vacation. I’d love to go to Arcade Infinity in California and give that IIDX Gold AC machine a try since I’ve never even seen a IIDX machine in person, but I doubt that’ll happen, so I’ll just think of a place to go full of tourist traps and the like. If I’m lucky, maybe I can find a machine where ever I happen to go. Oh well, I have nothing else to post, so ’till next time.
